fbm 2013 sword sq headtubes

The Sword Frameset is a tig welded, chromoly, single speed frameset with traditional track geometry handcrafted in small batches by FBM in Johnson City, NY.
When designing the frame, we wanted to keep the minimalist sleek lines of a track frameset, but also pay homage to FBM’s BMX roots;  we went with a classic double diamond frame, but one that uses an 1-1/8″ Campi spec integrated headset, the current standard in BMX, for our production models rather than a traditional headtube with pressed in headset cups.
When designing the fork we wanted to take the sleekness of a unicrown fork and integrate some of the boxiness of a classic fork crown to create a fork that looks both classic and modern.

How To Choose a Frame Size

First, measure your inseam.

How to measure your inseam
Stand with your back against a wall, your bare feet 6″ apart on a hard floor, and looking straight ahead. Place a book between your legs with one edge against the wall, and pull it up firmly into your crotch, simulating the pressure of your saddle while riding. Have a helper measure from the top edge of the book to the floor, in inches. This measurement is your inseam to be used when selecting you bicycle size, it is different than the inseam of your paints.

Our suggested sizes are as follows:

Size Inseam Range Height Range*
48sq 31″ to 32″ 5’5″ to 5’9.5″
52sq 32.5″ to 33.5″ 5’8″ to 6’1″
56sq 34″ to 35″ 5’11” to 6’4″

* We don’t suggest using height to determine your frame size due to the variation of body types for a particular height.
